I'm still a little unsure of exactly what I am going to produce for this project. Having a lot of freedom is a little daunting.
I do know that I want to look at storytelling and in particular myths and legends. I find it really interesting how stories have been passed down over so many decades and still remain part of our culture and still hold relevance today. Storytelling is obviously an integral part to game design so I think it would be interesting to research some really traditional stories and think about what makes a really good story and what enables a story to stand the test of time.
Although I will look at several different mythologies I'm really interested in Norse mythology as I don't really have a great deal of knowledge about it and the imagery and naturalistic feel really appeals to me. I think there's something really fascinating about nature and animals and their relationship with us as humans. I think in the past people held a great respect for nature and maybe this is something which has changed over the last few decades with a lot of species of animal facing extinction and pollution and industry threatening a lot of nature and its wildlife.
I would like to create something that portrays the change in the attitude towards nature and animals.
