Main Overview of
Plot
Set in a future earth where industry has taken over most of
the countryside. The cities are vast and over populated and surrounded by a
thick layer of pollution. The government of the country is very controlling and
the poorer are forced to work long hours in big factories. The rich live in beautiful parts of the cities
higher in the sky above the industrial districts.
The protagonist of the story is a young boy named Tyr
Evensen who has grown up in the poor district of the city. His parents were
killed when he was young and he now lives on the streets trying to get along as
best he can. Tyr’s only companion is a wolf he calls Fenrir. Tyr saved Fenrir
from death and since then they’ve always been together. Tyr possesses a rare gift
that he is not completely aware of, this gift allows a person to connect with
one animal spiritually. Once a connection is formed the two become almost like
one being, they can communicate with each other just by thinking and they feel
what the other feels. This allows the human to take on some of the animal’s
abilities.
There are others who possess the same gift, bestowed upon
them by the goddess Sif who seeks to give humans who she deems worthy a tool to
fight against the overbearing government and bring fertility and peace back to
the land.
A travelling circus visits the city, one of them discovers
Tyr and Fenrir after they get into some trouble for stealing. After they escape
Tyr and Fenrir join the circus and find that the circus performers all have the
gift that he possesses.
The government finds out about these people with special
powers and seeks to use it for its own gain. So Tyr and the others are hunted
down and have to band together to fight back.
This would be the basic starting point for the story of the game. Obviously it would become more complex as the game went on but in regards to this project I feel this is enough information to go on as I don't want to get too side tracked by being too involved in the story developments. I think it's important to give an overview, however, as it adds context to the world and characters.
