I have begun creating the stills in Photoshop for the opening animation. I'm making the images in PS and then transferring them to Adobe After Effects to add animation to them. I had a few issues while creating the images in that I neglected to put the image at the right aspect ratio (1280 x 720) when I began so I've had to go back and adjust each image. It didn't take me long to do but it's still something I need to be aware of in the future so that I don't have to waste time fixing it.
This video shows a quick test of the stills put together with some simple animation in After Effects.
