After reading the study on Disney films and their portrayal of death I have begun to think a lot more about the way in which I portray death. I have to be very careful about the way in which I present my ideas as I don't want to confuse children or give them a mixed message. I think the important thing is to be clear with the narrative and not use confusing metaphors.

I think in my narrative I have to be careful I make it clear that the girl who has died isn't coming back from the dead and that it is just her spirit. I think I can do this visually, if I make sure she looks very obviously different from how she did when she was alive I think it will be clear enough. I'm not sure how I can test this theory other than asking opinion of people on whether it is clear or not.
