Sherlock Holmes.
I really enjoy the Sherlock Holmes series of books and I feel that they are a perfect example of a good detective story. I would aim to create a story line to my game that would be of a similar style to Sherlock Holmes involving a 'who done it' type story with a twist. I would also really love to include some subtle references to the Sherlock Holmes series in my game for people who are familiar with the stories. I also think that with the recent release of the Hollywood film a lot more people would be more familiar with Sherlock Holmes and find this type of story interesting.
Nightmare Before Christmas.
I love the visual style of this film and have done since a very young age. I would love my game to be similar in style. Nightmare Before Christmas has a creepy style but it is done in a way that is still appealing to young children. This is the exact type of idea I have for the visual style of my game, I want it to be creepy but cute at the same time and to remain suitable for children.
Other Tim Burton animations also have this kind of style such as The Corpse Bride and his short film Vincent.
Hammer House of Horror
The Hammer House of Horror movies and television series are something I have been interested in for a long time. I love the style and overall atmosphere of them. I also love the way they tell classic horror stories in a new way. The art style of their posters and dvd covers also really appeal to me.
